During an emotional final assembly on Wednesday morning, we said good bye to our Year 12 “Class of 2019”. After walking into the school gym for the last time, students received some inspirational words from former student, Zahra Al Hilaly, now studying Law and Journalism at Murdoch University. Principal, Mrs Curtis, presented the House Cup to the 2019 winning House, Aquila before House Captain’s passed the House banners to their successors. Video presentations showing the students’ transition through their high school years were well received with a combination of tears and laughter. Head Boy, Ali and Head Girl, Chloe delivered their final speeches to their cohort, reflecting on their time at Dianella Secondary College along with some advice for the future generations of the school, “…take a moment to cherish those around you…this school has people within these walls that care for us beyond belief and want us to be our best selves…this school is one big support system and family that love us all completely.” To conclude, Mrs Curtis conveyed her valediction to our Year 12 Leavers, followed by a very emotional farewell from their beloved Head of Year, Ms Becker, before leading her cohort out of the gym for the final time. Good bye and good luck to the “Class of 2019”! We wish you every success in your future endeavours! Comments are closed.
