Activities including, but not limited to; dissections; field work; model building and practical tasks using dry ice; liquid nitrogen; and slime are used to engage students in real-life Science. Literacy and Numeracy is a huge aspect of all Science lessons and students are supported in their learning to assist them achieve graduation at the end of their journey at Dianella Secondary College.

The Oxford Science Year 7 - 10 textbooks and activity books are used in class and can be purchased from Campion Online Ordering, as per the book lists at the beginning of the school year.  The Pearson Science books and activities are used as enrichment and extension materials for students who have demonstrated an interest in Science.

Students who study Science will experience many real life situations through a variety of excursions.  Some examples of these include; visits to Herdsman Lake; Perth Zoo and Harry Perkins Medical Institute.  Year 10 students also attend in school Forensic Science sessions run by the Mirrabooka Police Station.
