Soccer Academy

The Soccer Academy at Dianella Secondary College welcomes students with a passion for soccer. We aim to develop students into confident community members by expanding their skills and knowledge in a friendly and welcoming environment. Participating students will work on their individual skills and techniques, team strategies and tactics while also focusing on their personal and social skills to develop them as confident and respectful young leaders.

The lower school academy is open to boys and girls of all skill levels, from which the most enthusiastic and hardworking students are selected for the Year 7 program and beyond. The academy aims to instill valuable skills and healthy habits for life, in a fun, enjoyable team environment. The program continues into upper school where the course provides further opportunities to develop as players and become accredited coaches and referees.

Throughout their time at school, students in the Dianella Secondary College Soccer Academy will have the opportunity to:
  • Expand their technical skills, knowledge, and understanding of tactics, formations and strategies.
  • Learn the rules of the game and be given opportunities to referee in school based and primary age competitions. Coach and mentor younger year groups.
  • Access coaching accreditation courses in Year 11/12.
  • Recieve Futsal training and compete in the West Coast Schools Futsal Titles.
  • Represent Dianella Secondary College in School Sport WA interschool competitions and lightning carnivals.
  • Recieve a Dianella Secondary College Soccer Academy uniform and soccer ball.

Selection and Trials:
Students selected into the academy will be by invitation only and subject to a trial selection process held at the Dianella Secondary College oval (see application form for trial date).
Continued participation in the academy is reliant on appropriate effort and behaviour in both the Dianella Secondary College Soccer Academy and general studies while maintaining Good Standing in the school.

Trial Dates

Trials are held on Friday 28/07/2023 (Term 3, Week 2) from 3:15pm – 4:15pm at the Dianella Secondary College oval for students who have been formally enrolled into Dianella Secondary College.
