USING WEBEX MEETINGS FOR REMOTE LEARNING

To assist with online learning, teachers will be using Connect to deliver learning materials and will be conducting online live classes via Webex Meetings. Your child should already be familiar with Connect as part of their schooling to download coursework. Webex Meetings will be introduced to allow your child to continue to receive the education they need remotely and provide direct access to their teachers.
 
Webex Meetings 
Webex Meetings is available to students via the Dianella Secondary School website, and we urge them to download and install it to their devices as soon as possible so that they may continue schooling with as little disruption as possible.

  1. Get the meeting link from your teacher via your Connect classroom. (It should look like https://educationwa.webex.com/meet/firstname.lastname)
  2. Paste it into your browser’s address bar and hit return or click on the link in Connect.
  3. Next you’ll be prompted to Install Webex. Download and install Webex.exe and hit launch (Alternatively, if you do not have sufficient privileges to install applications, you can ignore the message to download/launch Webex and instead click Join from your browser).
  4. Next you’ll be prompted to enter your name and email and click next. (Use your student email [email protected]).
  5. If accessing from a browser such as Chrome, you will be prompted to Use your microphone. It is your choice whether to allow or block use during these sessions. Bear in mind, some classroom interactions may require the use of microphones. Skip the What’s New prompt.
  6. Before you can join the meeting, make sure Use computer for audio is selected.
  7. Hit Join Meeting.
