The first instalment of the Kooyar Carnival, a joint swimming and Earth Carnival, was a huge success, despite the scorching sun and intense humidity of the hottest day in 2018. Over 400 Dianella Secondary College students participated in the Swimming and tabloid sports events, including swimming races, Tunnel Ball, Leader Ball, Tug-O-War, egg and spoon races, Flag Relays, Chariot Relays, Gheeta Relay and Niagara Falls. We were also lucky enough to have the Royal Life Saving Society WA run events such as: the Duck Scramble, Noodle Relay and the Life Jack Relay. All students embraced their house spirit represented in the hilarious and colourful outfits they wore on the day. It will be interesting to see who wins the “Best Dressed” award. A big thank you to Ms Blake and The Smash Crew Sports Team from Noongar Radio for being the poolside MC’s. Thank you and Congratulations to Mr Thompson, Ms Rudrum and the Phys Ed Department for a successful event. The winners of the house cups and Champions of each year group will be announced at the next assembly. Comments are closed.
