For Book Week, the English Department organised numerous events throughout the week to celebrate literacy. The theme of book week this year was "Escape to Everywhere". With a focus on Harry Potter, Dianella Secondary College was turned into a magical world. The English teachers decorated the front of their office and hid a "Golden Snitch" each day around the campus for students to find for a prize. The Snitch was made out of decoration balls and emu feathers. Miss Blake decided to bring to life the famous Harry Potter game, Quidditch. Students in all years were given the opportunity to participate and learn how the game is played. Members of The West Australian Quidditch Association were kind enough to give up their time and spend the morning teaching students the basics of the sport. Students not only got to have some fun playing a new sport but they also saw one of their favourite books become a reality. To wrap up Book Week, DSC held its annual Book Week Dress Up Day. It was excellent to see so many teacher and students get creative with their costumes! Congratulations to the English Department for organising a fun and successful week! Comments are closed.
