Dianella Secondary College students were invited to attend an exclusive musical theatre work shop run by Perform, Act, Dance WA (PADWA) with Australian actress, Rachael Beck.
The focus of the after school work shop was “Empowerment through performance” and students participated in drama, self-esteem games and script reading from various movies and plays. These activities allowed students to learn how to perform using a script and develop their confidence while performing. During the two hour workshop, students were coached in singing and performed skits to demonstrate the new skills they have learnt. Rachael Beck has featured in many Australian and global productions such as Home & Away, Beauty & the Beast: The Musical with Hugh Jackman and Hey Dad. She was a mentor on Australia’s “It Takes 2” and is an adjudicator for the Sydney Eisteddfod and a Wakkikiri judge. Dianella Secondary College Principal, Mr Wayne Austin, was delighted by the event. ”It’s great that we can offer our students extra-curricular opportunities like these, especially considering many of our students come from diverse backgrounds.” He says. Dianella Secondary College would like to thank PADWA for the excellent opportunity and looks forward to working with them in the future. Comments are closed.
