he weather turned on a perfect day for Wednesday’s Inter-House Athletics Carnival, which was a fiesta of House colours with students dressed in their colourful and creative costumes. Some outfits may have made it difficult to compete in but that didn’t stop anyone from participating and cheering for their peers. A McDonald’s box, Egyptian pharaohs, Care Bears, and assorted other characters took to the various track and field events, including 100m, 200m 800m, relays, high jump, long jump, discus and shot put. It was a blockbuster day where six school records were broken! Congratulations to Pacifique, who ran the Year 9 Boys 100m in 11.37 seconds, not only smashing the Year 9 record of 12.03 seconds from 1983, but also beating the records for Year 10, 11 and 12, making him the fastest student to ever attend Dianella Secondary College! Incredible run, Pacifique! Other record breakers were as follows: Year 7 Boys 100m - Moegamad Davids, 12.62 400m - Moegamad Davids, 1:09.60 Year 7 Girls 100m - Flora Mohamed, 13.98 Long Jump - Rujina Yakoub, 4.47m Year 8 Boys Long Jump - Sarsan Ahmed, 5.68m Comments are closed.
